Health and Safety

Age appropriate

We only paint children 3 years and over due to skin sensitivity and our insurance policy.

Product safety

  • We use high-quality cosmetic grade face paints. All paints are purchased from reputable brands and UK sellers. Glitter used is cosmetic grade.

  • All brushes and sponges are thoroughly cleaned after each use. A fresh sponge is used for each person.

  • We never paint anyone who is sick or has any contagious conditions.

  • We cannot paint over sensitive, broken or inflamed skin, only on unaffected area.

  • If skin is dirty, we request that skin is cleaned first.

Face paint Removal

  • Use mild soap and warm water with a soft cloth or sponge to gently remove face paint. Avoid excess rubbing to help keep the skin comfortable.

  • Avoid baby wipes and wet wipes, as they may irritate the skin when used to remove face paint. They are also less effective at removing face paint pigments.

  • Remove all face paint before bedtime. Leaving face paint on overnight may stain bedding and could cause skin irritation.

Parent/Guardian responsibility and consent

  • A responsible adult must be present at all times.

  • Please inform us of any allergies or skin conditions before face painting.

  • Children under the age of 16 must have prior permission from a parent or legal guardian before being painted if their parent or guardian will not be present at the party.

  • Children must be willing to take part.

Allergies, Skin Sensitivity & Patch Testing

Your comfort and safety are important. Please inform me of any known allergies or skin sensitivities before painting.

  • Known allergies: If you have a known allergy to face paints or their ingredients, I strongly advise against having your face painted.

  • Sensitive skin or uncertainty: If you have sensitive skin, are unsure whether you may react, or have known allergies to other cosmetic products, please take extra precautions. I recommend requesting a patch test at least 30 minutes before face painting and choosing a small design on the arm initially.

  • Discomfort or irritation: If you experience any discomfort or skin irritation and wish to remove the face paint, please ask me for my removal kit, which contains mild soap and a soft cloth.
